  The worktop, made of too thin pressed sheet metal, is unstable, despite the reinforcing ribs on the lower surface. Not to be nostalgic for the good, old, massive tools of yesteryear, but the worktop has to be cast, whether it's cast iron or aluminum. The fixed jaw (so to speak, the one with the angle adjustment) is ridiculously unstable and the quick fixing system, with an eccentric cam, loosens with vibrations. Better to remove it immediately and use only two bolts. By the way, the distance between these two fixing points is too small, as a result of which the resisting moment does not guarantee sufficient locking. Even better to proceed with a radical customization of the entire clamp system, also replacing the triangular profile screw (which is irreparably damaged after a short use) with a trapezoidal profile, as in any vice worthy of the name. The quick release pawl for this screw must therefore also be replaced, perhaps even with just a simple nut: there will be more crank work to fix the vice, but at least it will work safely. On the other hand, the motor-swinging arm assembly appears solid and well-sized, even if the movable disc protection is somewhat unstable. Ultimately, a giant with feet of clay ... I was expecting American quality from DeWalt, not the usual Chinese junk. Instead I found myself with made in India at US prices. Apart from all this, the whole metal cutting system with abrasive disc is a failure, for this purpose there is no other solution than the diamond saw. If DeWalt were able to supply a reduction gear to lower the RPM from 4000 to 1800, it would make me a happy and enthusiastic user.
